With the aim of debating the humanization of health care, the Humanization Commission of the Centro Hospitalar do Médio Tejo (CHMT) promotes on Thursday, April 7th, the I National Symposium of Hospital Humanization Commissions. The meeting scheduled for World Health Day will take place at the Convent of Christ, in Tomar, between 9:30 am and 4:00 pm.

The event is expected to bring together close to a hundred participants, as well as more than two dozen humanization committees from Portuguese hospitals, from various parts of the country.
“On this World Health Day, the second celebrated in the four corners of the planet in the context of a pandemic, we wanted to bring to the agenda, with the organization of this meeting, the humanization of health care in the SNS. Humanization was, in fact, one of the biggest lessons of the COVID-19 pandemic: we promote Health from people to people”, says Casimiro Ramos, Chairman of the Board of Directors (CA) of the CHMT.
As disclosed in a statement, Casimiro Ramos also adds that “the creation of a culture of humanization of health in SNS hospitals, of proximity and deep respect for the patients we serve and for their families, is a continuous effort”, so the presence of 21 humanization committees from hospitals from various parts of the country, as well as about a hundred confirmed participants, reveal that “SNS hospitals want to be closer and closer to those they care for”.
