The Santa Catarina Environment Institute (IMA) invites society to participate in the unprecedented public consultation, which begins this Wednesday, 6th, to review the environmental licensing procedures, starting with the Normative Instructions (INs). IMA will make 57 INs available in the Public Consultation. The documents will be included gradually by the technical team and will be available at this link. In this first stage, the consultation will be open until April 16th.
The readjustment of the normative instructions is necessary to streamline procedures, standardize among all Regional Coordinations, equalize with the current environmental legislation, reduce bureaucracy without losing the essence that is the conservation of the State’s natural resources. “This is the first time that IMA has launched a Public Consultation for this purpose, as we want to build together with society a product of excellence, which combines adequate environmental controls, productivity, and economic and sustainable development with the reality of each activity. ”, explained the president of IMA, Daniel Vinicius Netto.
The public will be able to give an opinion on the naming of documents, practical application, in addition to suggesting changes. After compiling the data, the technical team will decide on the inclusion of the suggestions in the official publication.
INs are official published documents and establish criteria, concepts and procedures to be observed in environmental licensing for potentially polluting activities and users of environmental resources.
