This Saturday (3), singer Anitta revealed to the press that she was diagnosed with the Epstein–Barr virus (EBV) that can cause multiple sclerosis.
The statement was made during the documentary that the artist produced called Eu, directed by Ludmila Dayer.
In this production, Ludmila will tell how she discovered sclerosis and how she found a way to deal with the chronic, incurable neurological disease, which is caused by inflammatory and degenerative mechanisms that affect the central nervous system.
Anitta said that without the guidance of that friend, she would never have discovered this virus. With many symptoms similar to what Ludmila already had, the singer decided to undergo tests.
– When the results arrived, I had the same virus as Ludmila, in the initial phase. Nowadays there is no coincidence. By luck, by fate, I managed not to reach the stage that Ludmila reached (…) She was a blessing in my life – she reveals.
Epstein–Barr (EBV) is a common virus, mainly among young people between 15 and 25 years of age, which causes mononucleosis, also called kissing fever.
Transmitted by direct contact with saliva (hence the name kissing fever) the virus can also spread through contact with contaminated objects and blood transfusion.
What science has discovered about this virus is that individuals who have not been infected with it virtually never develop multiple sclerosis.
