Environmental degradation could be the answer to disasters in Paraná, says expert – CBN Curitiba – A Rádio Que Toca Notícia

The degradation of the environment can be the reason for most of the environmental disasters caused in Paraná over the last few years. The year 2022 was marked by the large amount of rain in the state, unlike 2021, when the drought affected the lives of people from Paraná.

According to the executive director of the Society for Research in Wildlife and Environmental Education, Clóvis Borges, Paraná has moved from a state of drought to a period of intense rain. The two extremes ended up becoming harmful, and the answer to the large amount of rain or the intense drought may lie in the degradation of natural resources.

Around the world, environmental changes modify climate conditions. The executive director points out that local actions are not enough to prevent the rains and drought from causing problems for Paraná.

The expert points out that joint actions can solve global warming, by reducing the emission of pollutants, and also by campaigns and actions for environmental preservation.

Paraná is one of the largest agricultural producers in the country. In 2021, the gross production value reached BRL 180.6 billion. However, production without concern for the preservation of natural resources can cause serious environmental problems, which can harm farmers.

Finally, the executive director of the Society for Research in Wildlife and Environmental Education also pointed out that the work on the beachfront in Matinhos, on the coast of Paraná, took place very quickly. For him, the actions should analyze the damage caused to the environment.

In December, the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office (MPF) in Paraná opened a public civil inquiry to investigate a possible irregular removal of sandbanks along the beachfront.

The Water and Land Institute (IAT) informed that it will present all the documentation required to clarify the removal, and also said that the intervention is a work of public utility, and that the native species will be reconstituted in the area where the works are carried out for the beach fattening.
