The author institutions of the seven projects contemplated by public notice nº 01/2022, of the Teresópolis Municipal Fund for Environmental Protection, presented the selected proposals to the public in a ceremony this Wednesday, 25th, at the Municipal Theater, in the City Hall. With actions in the areas of environmental education, selective collection, forest protection and monitoring of endangered species, the authors of the projects will share R$ 1.4 million in funding to put the proposals into practice. The forecast is that the amount will be credited to the institutions’ account on the 15th of February. “I am very happy to see the organized civil society of Teresópolis producing beautiful projects that will certainly bring enormous environmental, social and economic gains to our city. There are R$ 1.4 million very well invested in proposals prepared by competent, serious and committed people”, highlighted Mayor Vinicius Claussen when symbolically delivering the checks to the authors of each project, accompanied by municipal secretaries.
The Environment Secretary, Flávio Castro, pointed out that all the contemplated projects will contribute a lot to the environmental preservation policy in the municipality. “The idea of the fund is to support initiatives that create the right conditions for improving environmental management in the municipality of Teresópolis, thus promoting the integration of public power actions and the strengthening of civil society organizations in the search for sustainable local development. .”
“I thank you for the opportunity and congratulate the City Hall, through the Department of the Environment, which, together with Comdema, took the initiative to use resources from the Environmental Fund for entities to carry out actions that contribute to the municipal policy of environmental preservation in our city. They are proposals very well prepared by the participating entities, with environmentally conscious attitudes and that will be developed in different regions of the municipality”, highlighted Luiz Henrique Siqueira, one of the representatives of the project “Take care of our daily garbage – organized garbage in the community of Mottas ”.
